Sukhumvit is the prime dining, shopping, and entertainment area of Bangkok. An endless selection of bars, restaurants, local markets, and top shopping malls will keep you busy, fed, and entertained without traveling far. The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center is located here, making this a convenient area if you’re attending a convention in the city.

Sukhumvit is the longest thoroughfare in Thailand, and in the heart of Bangkok, the Sukhumvit district is roughly centered between the Nana and Ekkamai SkyTrain stations, along the Sukhumvit line. The SkyTrain makes traveling to anywhere in Bangkok quick and easy.

The largest shopping complex in this area is the Emporium Shopping Centre with designer shops on the bottom floors and more moderately priced goods on the upper floors. Be sure to check out the food court and the numerous restaurants for a selection of good eats.

Next to the Emporium is the green oasis of Benjasiri Park, dedicated to Queen Sirikit. Enjoy the opportunity to stretch your legs and enjoy the landscaped walkways, outdoor sculpture, children’s playground, skating rink, and Thai-style pavilions.

If you’re looking for nightlife, head for Nana Plaza (Soi 4) or Soi Cowboy (between Soi 21-23). Bars, restaurants, and a variety of entertainments offer plenty to amuse you into the wee hours of the morning.
